IPL - 2012 , Players to look out - Chris Gayle
The fifth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) offers
a plethora of talent from all over the world cricket. Players like Chris Gayle,
Lasith Malinga and David Warner have the power to turn any match around and will
be key to the fortunes of their team in the tournament.
Here is a list of stars to watch this season:
Chris Gayle:
A name that would be on the lips of every bowler will be
that of the explosive West Indian batsman Chris Gayle. The man in the Caribbean
took the tournament by storm in 2011 after being overlooked in the player
auction.
Gayle was introduced as a replacement for Australian pacer
Dirk Nannes and played a crucial role in the course of the Royal Challengers
for the final. He knocked two hundred, three half-centuries, and picked up
eight wickets as held in Bangalore were thwarted in the final by the Chennai
Super Kings. Gayle was the highest long-getter in competition last year with
608 runs at an average of 67.55.
A look at his team:
Bangalore Royal Challengers:
Finalists from last year can expect to go the distance with
the presence of the explosive West Indian batsman Chris Gayle and form Virat
Kohli. These two should get broad support of AB Villiers of South Africa and
Sri Lankan Tillakaratne Dilshan.
Zaheer Khan and R Vinay Kumar will be the key in the fast
bowling department. Spinners Daniel Vettori Champions and Muttiah Muralitharan
Royal Challengers certainly a force to reckon with.
