Russian fuel and energy complex to be privatized
Privatization of companies of Russia’s fuel and energy
complex may start already this year, President Vladimir Putin said during his
meeting with representatives of public organizations and entrepreneurs in
Moscow on Thursday.
He added that the privatization will come amid signs of improvement of the economic situation in
Russia. He stressed that the companies should be sold for “their real price.”
Earlier this week, Putin ordered the government to approve a
program to sell assets of state-controlled Rosneftegaz which holds more than 75
percent of the shares of Russia’s oil giant Rosneft.
The program is due to be implemented before the end of 2015.
