Sherlyn Chopra to star in 3D 'Kamasutra' (Video)
Actress Sherlyn
Chopra, the first Indian girl to pose nude for Playboy magazine international
has bagged a role in 'Kamasutra 3D', to be directed by Rupesh Paul.
"I'm glad to
have aboard Sherlyn. She has the earthiness and sensuality that the character
required. This film will redefine his career," Paul said in a statement.
Paul announced the
project at the Cannes Film Festival this year. But Sherlyn has been locked by a
key role recently.
The film is expected
to premiere at the prestigious festival in 2013.
Sherlyn addition,
there are two most important characters in the movie that can be played by
known actors of Bollywood. The director gave no further details, but said:
"The casting is on and all I can say now is that going to be the big
surprise of the film."
Finding actors for
his film has not been a cakewalk for the director.
"I received
mixed reactions from the actors I approached. Though some of them gave me a
brand image coolly my graphic porn film, most of them appreciated the bold
idea," added Paul.
He strongly defends
Kamasutra association with porn.
"India is known
as a land of Kamasutra. Erotica Epic is as significant as the Gita or
Ramayana.'s Not just sensuality and eroticism.'s A struggle of the human mind
to understand one of the most important areas of life . It's pathetic to relate
this ancient script pornography, "he said.
"If you go to
Paris, all coffee shops will have a shortened version of the Kamasutra.'s
Ancient scriptures are read and appreciated by millions of people abroad and
never owned it.'s A shame," said Paul.
There is another
reason that the director has decided to release the film in 2013.
"Indian cinema
is completing 100 years in 2013 and an epic film like 'Kamasutra' must be
released in the same year. The film is making the rounds at several
international film festivals and will be a celebration of Indian culture is
also apart of cinema Indian, "he says.
Trailers initial
movie, filmed by Sapan Narula, will be screened soon in Los Angeles November 4
and later in the International Film Festival of Berlin.
Earlier, Mira Nair
"Kama Sutra: A Love Story", released in 1996, went into the same
issue.
