Ramco awarded ISO 9001:2008 certificate
Sri Ramco Lanka, a wholly owned subsidiary of India's US$
1000 million highly diversified Ramco Group from Chennai, celebrated the
achievement of several milestones at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel recently, with
the participation of dignitaries, company dealers.
According to Director, Sri Ramco Lanka, Prem G Shanker,
Ramco had awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate, while Sunil Perera of Gypsies
fame was appointed the brand ambassador. The company's logo too was unveiled at
the ceremony.
Realizing the much needed demand for fibre cement sheets in
the country, Ramco Group set up a factory at the Makandura, Industrial Park
with two modern plants for the manufacture of fibre cement corrugated roofing
sheets and flat sheets for ceilings and portioning. The annual capacity being
240,000 metric tons.

A second plent was also set up at the Mathugama Industrial
Park with a capacity of 140,000 metric tons with an investment of Rs 1.16
billion.
The company's logo indicates renewed partnerships with the
dealers, customers and end users to provide them unsurpassed value for money,
induction of new technology and state of the art information technology to
strengthen communication bonds with the Ramco Group.
Enhancement through ISO 9001 system and environmental
management systems through ISO 14001 would ensure clean manufacturing systems
through technical support to customers.
