Eleven Famous People who survived being shot- Greg LeMond

Before Lance Armstrong, there was Greg LeMond, who won the Tour de France in 1986, becoming the first American to win the famed race. But in 1987, LeMond’s legacy almost took a frightening turn when he was accidentally shot in the back with a shotgun by his brother in law while turkey hunting. 

LeMond somehow managed to survive even though he would go on to spend the rest of his career with 37 shotgun pellets lodged in his body, including two in the lining of his heart. That’s remarkable enough, but what’s even more remarkable is that LeMond would go on to win twice more at the Tour de France, claiming back to back titles in 1989 and ’90. And let’s not forget, he did all that with a bunch of buckshot buried in his back. Lance Armstrong had to lose a testicle. Greg LeMond had to get shot. What will happen to the next American who wins the Tour de France? Will he fall victim to hysterical blindness? Have his dick chopped off by an enraged Frenchman? I hear that does make you more aerodynamic, but still, the trend that’s been established by LeMond and Armstrong is kind of disturbing.
