Eleven Famous People who survived being shot- Plaxico Burress

Undoubtedly the funniest shooting on this list, Burress, a star wide receiver for the New York Giants, was shot in 2008 by . . . well, by himself. Naturally, as happens to everyone at some point in their life, Burress found himself out at the club when his gun started slipping from the waist of his sweatpants. Like I said, happens to everyone, right? He then reached for the gun, accidentally pulled the trigger and shot himself in the thigh. The injuries were minor – Burress only spent one day in the hospital – but the fallout was major. Oh, and also completely ridiculous. For the crime of being a dumbass, Burress was sent to prison for a couple of years, while everyone in America took turns mocking him and shaking their head at the severity of the punishment. Recently released from prison, Burress plans on resuming his football career, but no matter what happens to him for the rest of his life – well, short of an OJesque post career episode anyway – when people think of him they will always think of the time he shot himself in a club because he was dumb enough to stick a loaded handgun into his sweatpants.
