There’s a reason why 50 Cent wears a bulletproof vest everywhere he goes. Hell, you would too if you survived being shot nine times, which the Honorable Master Cent was back in 2000. Shot 9 times (!) at close range with a 9MM in front of his grandma’s house, in the hand, arm, hip, both legs, chest and face, somehow 50 Cent and a friend of his, who was also shot in the melee, managed to drive themselves to a hospital, where 50 stayed for 13 days, emerging alive and with a new record contract. Naturally, the whole experience gave 50 a new perspective on life, and he used it to both fuel and inspire his rise to the top. Sure, the dude ended up with a small slur and a whole hell of a lot of scars, but he also ended up with a reputation for being a hard ass and with a hell of a story to build his career on. The gunman ended up getting killed himself only a few weeks later, 50 went on to fame and fortune and the Grandma ended up starring in the role of Steven Tyler on American Idol, so I guess it all worked out in the end.
